This current pattern will hold through Saturday. Lower elevations saw typical up-canyon winds of 4-6 miles per hour. Winds remained gusty from the southeast at the highest elevations. Temperatures were once again well into the 80s. Relative humidity values fell to the 12% mark in some locations. Gusts over the highest (5,000-7,000 feet) ridges were 25-30 miles per hour. Overnight relative humidity values fell into the 15-22% range. The offshore component is hurting any potential for the relative humidity to recover, which is leading to even drier minimum relative humidity values during the peak heating of the day. This is serving to enhance the overnight diurnal winds, especially along the ridges. High pressure to the northwest and low pressure to the south is leaving our fire under dry, northeast flow.
